- Surreal Landscape of Cappadocia
Cappadocia offers some of the best and most spectacular walking trails in the world. Each valley around Cappadocia's heart offers different views, rock formations, colors, and all of these changes with each season. The unique erosion patterns in the rocks form varying shapes and textures - and the local farmers have placed their vineyards and orchards on any and every plateau and terraced area possible. We have some amazing walking routes created for every fitness level and thoroughly enjoy showing these amazing sights, sounds, and smells to our guests. We offer 2 full-day hiking experiences but can also arrange shorter hikes to fit into your Cappadocia itinerary as well.
Pigeon Valley and Red Valley Full Day Hike;
You will be picked up by your guide and driver to be dropped at the Uchisar town to start walking in the Pigeon Valley. This relatively short hike finishes in Goreme village in 45 minutes but allows you to stroll and explore the narrow streets of Goreme village, which is located in the middle of the National Park of Cappadocia region. Through Goreme village, we will walk up to the Red Valley to have our lunch surrounded by Cappadocia's surreal landscape. After lunch and a rest in the Red Valley, you will be walking through Rose Valley to the quaint ancient village of Cavusin to finish the day with a fresh orange juice overlooking the cave houses of this ancient village. Our vehicle will take us back home with dust and unforgettable memories of Cappadocia.
Full Day Ihlara Valley Hike;
Ihlara Valley is located around eighty kilometers away from the Cappadocia region and is a 12 km (7.5 miles) long gorge cut into volcanic rock by the Melendiz Stream. What makes the valley unique is the ancient history of its inhabitants. The whole canyon is honeycombed with rock-cut underground dwellings and churches from the Byzantine period. After an hour of driving, you will reach the Ihlara village named after the valley and start walking to the Belisirma village for lunch named after the Greek word, Peristrema. You will be able to visit a couple of amazing churches located in the middle of the valley and have lunch in Belisirma village over the ever-flowing Melendiz stream. After lunch, another 2 hours of walking will take you to Yaprakhisar village to meet up with our driver to get back home to your hotel.
Full Day Zemi and Love Valley Hike;
Zemi is the least popular valley among the hikers even though it is located in the middle of the National Park. After a 4 hour walk in Zemi valley, you will arrive at Goreme and will have the opportunity to stroll through the gigantic fairy chimneys of Love Valley and reach to a view point for spectacular views of Cappadocia. You will walk in the Goreme village and see beautifully restored old Greek houses converted to hotels one by one every day. Your driver will pick you up from Goreme Village and drop you back at your hotel.
