Istanbul was called Constantinople until the 15th Century, and during the reign of the Greco-Romans, the city was crowned by masterpieces of Greco-Roman architecture. Most popular of them are located in the center of the old city of Istanbul, but with this tour, you can get off the tourist track and explore the less-visited churches of Constantinople. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul after breakfast and then take you to the Pammakaristos Church (Fethiye Camii Muzesi), built in the 11th Century, and exhibits beautiful mosaics of the late Byzantium period. It has been used as a mosque since 1591 but recently renovated and converted to a museum. You will continue to The Church of the Holy Savior (Chora Church) to see Constantinople's best-preserved mosaics from the same period. You will stroll in the narrow streets of Balat and see the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, which was moved from Hagia Sophia to here in the 15th Century. Lunch will be held in the Golden Horn. Then you can visit The Church of the Saints Sergius and Bacchus (Kucuk Ayasofya Muzesi), a small copy of the gigantic Hagia Sophia. After visiting this structure, our guide will drop you back at your hotel.
