Harput Kalesi Nerede?
Harput Kalesi, günümüzde Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin doğusunda yer alan Elazığ ilinin Harput ilçesinden adını almıştır. Günümüzde olduğu gibi geçmişte de Malatya, Elazığ ve benzeri yüksek bölgeler, MÖ 9. yüzyıldan MÖ 6. yüzyıla kadar Anadolu'nun doğusunu yöneten Urartular için önemli şarap üretim merkezleriydi. Urartular, Elazığ ovalarına hâkim bir konumda bulunan Harput Kalesi'ni, topraklarını ve Kapadokya'ya giden kervanları korumak amacıyla inşa etmişlerdir. Bugün Elazığ şehri, İstanbul'dan uçakla kolayca ulaşılabilir bir konumdadır ve yakınlardaki Malatya şehrinden arabayla sadece 1,5 saat sürmektedir. Malatya'dan Van'a uzanan bu rota, Harput Kalesi gibi çeşitli gizli hazineler sayesinde yavaş yavaş popüler bir turistik güzergah haline gelmektedir.
Süt Kalesi
Kuraklık nedeniyle suyun az olması sebebiyle, kalenin harcında süt kullanıldığına inanılmaktadır. Bu, Harput Kalesi ile ilgili çeşitli efsanelerden biridir. Harput Kalesi'nin Tarihi
Harput Kalesi, MÖ 8. yüzyılda günümüz Türkiye'sinin doğu kısmını yöneten Urartular tarafından inşa edilmiştir. Harput, Urartular için önemli şarap üretim merkezleri olan Elazığ ovalarına hâkim sarp kayalıklar üzerine yerleştirilmiştir. Doğu Anadolu'nun zorlu coğrafyasına rağmen Urartular, çok yetenekli madenciler ve çiftçilerdi; kutsal ve efsanevi Fırat ve Dicle nehirlerine akan birçok nehir ve dereden faydalanmışlardır. Batıdan Sardis şehri üzerinden gelen bir ticaret yolu, Urartu topraklarından geçerek Pers'e uzanıyordu ve Harput Kalesi, bu yolda gerçekleşen yoğun ticareti korumak için inşa edilen kalelerden biriydi. Ancak Persler de bu zengin toprakları kontrol etmek istiyordu ve Orta Doğu'dan gelen Medler tarafından zayıflatılan toplulukları devirdiler. Harput, Urartulardan Osmanlılara kadar önemini korumuştur. Persler, Romalılar, Araplar ve Türkler, Harput'un Elazığ çevresinde stratejik bir öneme sahip bir kale olduğunu biliyor ve kaleyi birer birer fethediyorlardı. Günümüzde gördüğümüz Harput Kalesi'nin görünümüne birçok Türk belediyesi katkıda bulunmuştur. Osmanlılar, 16. yüzyılda bölgenin kontrolünü ele almış ve kaleye son izlerini bırakmıştır. Bugün kale üzerinde devam eden arkeolojik kazılar oldukça önemlidir; çünkü bu çalışmalar genellikle Harput Kalesi'nin Osmanlı mirasına odaklanmaktadır. 2005-2009 yılları arasında yapılan kazılarda, Harput Kalesi'nin iç ve dış kısımlarında birçok Osmanlı kalıntısı bulunmuştur. Son etkileyici keşif, doğal kayalara oyulmuş ve zindan olarak kullanılan odalara ulaşan tüneller olmuştur. Bugün Harput Kalesi ve çevresi, Orta Çağ ve Osmanlı dönemlerine bir yolculuk gibi hissettiren eski ve antik yapılarla doludur.
