Küçüksu Kasrı
Küçüksu Kasrı (Türkçe: Küçüksu), Boğaziçi'nin büyüleyici bir bölgesinde yer almaktadır. Yerleşim tarihi Bizans Dönemi'ne kadar uzanır. Küçüksu ve çevresi, Osmanlı Dönemi'nde de popülerdi ve padişahın olağanüstü bahçelerinden biri olan "Kandil Bahçesi" olarak kullanılıyordu. Sultan Murad (1623-1640) burayı çok severdi ve "Gümüş Selvi" adını vermişti.
Özellikle 18. yüzyıldan itibaren yoğun bir yapılaşma gözlemlenir. Sultan Mahmud I (1730-1754) döneminde, Divittar Mehmed Paşa, padişah için bu güzel bahçenin deniz kıyısında iki katlı ahşap bir saray inşa ettirdi. Hem Sultan Selim III hem de Sultan Mahmud II, kendi dönemlerinde bu sarayı kullandılar.
Sultan Abdülmecid (1839-1861) dönemi, özellikle saray ve köşk mimarisinde batı tarzlarının tercih edildiği bir dönemdir. Abdülmecid, Dolmabahçe ve Ihlamur yapılarında uyguladığı yenilikleri Küçüksu Kasrı'nda da kullanarak eski ve ahşap yapıyı yıktırdı ve yerine günümüzdeki kasrı inşa ettirdi.
Yeni Küçüksu Kasrı'nın mimarı Nikogos Balyan'dır ve kasır 1857 yılında hizmete açılmıştır. Bodrum katıyla birlikte üç katlı olan kasır, 15x27 metre boyutlarında taş işçiliği tekniği kullanılarak inşa edilmiştir. Bodrum katı mahzen, mutfak ve hizmetçiler için ayrılmışken, diğer katlarda orta bir alana açılan dört oda bulunmaktadır. Bu özelliğiyle geleneksel Türk evi plan tipini yansıtan yapı, dinlenme ve avlanma amacıyla kullanılan bir "konaklama köşkü"dür. Diğer Osmanlı saraylarının aksine, yüksek duvarlarla değil, dört yönde kapıları olan zarif demir parmaklıklarla çevrilidir ve döküm tekniği kullanılmıştır. Cephe süslemeleri Abdülaziz Dönemi'nde (1861-1876) yenilenen bina, zaman zaman bazı onarımlardan geçmiştir;
Deniz kıyısında kabartmalarla süslenmiş cephede, bu cepheye dayanan küçük bir havuz ve çeşmede, ayrıca merdivenlerde çeşitli batı dekorasyon motifleri kullanılmıştır. Odalar ve salonlar değerli sanat eserleriyle döşenmiş, bu iş için Viyana Operası'nın dekoratörü Sechan görevlendirilmiştir. Küçüksu Kasrı, sıva kabartmalı ve el oyması tavanları, farklı renk ve şekillerde değerli İtalyan mermerlerinden yapılmış şömine müzesini andıran şömineleri, her odada ayrı ayrı dekore edilmiş ve ince işçilikle yapılmış parkeleri, çeşitli Avrupa tarzlarındaki mobilyaları, halıları ve tablolarıyla eşsiz bir sanat müzesidir. Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nde bir süre devlet konukevi olarak kullanılmıştır. Günümüzde ise müze-saray işlevini kazanmıştır.
1994 yılında kapsamlı ve çağdaş bir restorasyondan geçen Küçüksu Kasrı, halka açıktır. Hemen yanındaki iskele, çeşme meydanı ve orijinal bahçesi, eskisi gibi tarihi ve rekreasyonel bir dinlenme alanı haline gelmiştir.
