Old city of Istanbul tour is highly recommended for those who have limited time to explore Istanbul's city. Must-see sites of Istanbul city are just a stone's throw away from each other, but you will appreciate one of our guides' assistance to get the city's real feeling. You will first visit the Hippodrome, the Byzantine city's social center, which was used as a horse racing track during Roman times. Today the Walled Obelisk, Obelisk of Thutmose III, and the Serpent Column brought from Delphi are exhibited in the center of the Hippodrome and are called Sultanahmet square by the locals. You will visit the Sultanahmet mosque afterward, named after Sultan Ahmed I. The tiles used in the mosque shaded the architect and the mosque's foundation because it is known as the Blue Mosque today among the tourists. You will continue to Hagia Sophia, which served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral for more than 7 centuries. The dome's height is jaw-dropping, and Ottoman architects raced with it during their careers, and only one was able to exceed it. After visiting the Underground Cistern of Yerebatan, you will have lunch and rest before visiting the Topkapi Palace. It was the imperial palace of the Ottomans for 4 centuries, which reflects the splendor of the Ottoman Empire and their extravagance. Your tour will finish with a Turkish coffee on the Topkapi Palace terraces overlooking the Bosporus before you return to your hotel.
