HATTUŞA NEDIR?
Orta Anadolu'da Boğazkale yakınlarındaki sakin tepelerde gizlenmiş olan Hattuşaş, bir zamanlar Hitit İmparatorluğu'nun güçlü başkentiydi. Bu gizemli antik şehir, Geç Tunç Çağı'nda Mısır ve Babil ile rekabet eden antik Yakın Doğu'nun en güçlü uygarlıklarından birinin idari ve dini merkezi olarak hizmet etti.
Hattuşaş, MÖ 17. yüzyıla dayanan bir tarihe sahip olup, görkemli tapınaklar, kraliyet sarayları, güçlü şehir kapıları ve birçok diğer uygarlıktan çok önce şehir planlaması bilimini anlayan bir nüfusa ev sahipliği yapıyordu.
TARİH BOYU BİR YOLCULUK
Hititler, Anadolu'da iyi organize edilmiş bir devlet ve yasal sistem kuran ilk halktı. İmparatorlukları Batı Türkiye'den Suriye ve Kuzey Irak'a kadar uzanıyordu ve antik Mısır ile tarihteki ilk barış antlaşmalarından biri olan Kadeş Antlaşması'nı imzalayan az sayıdaki uygarlıklardan biriydi.
Hattuşaş, onların kalbiydi. Yaklaşık MÖ 1200 yılında istilalar ve doğal çöküş nedeniyle terk edilmesine rağmen, kalıntıları 20. yüzyılın başlarında yeniden keşfedilene kadar gizli kaldı. 1986 yılında Hattuşaş, UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi'ne eklendi ve küresel önemi korundu.

- Büyük Tapınak: Hattuşaş'ın ruhani merkezi, Fırtına Tanrısı ve Güneş Tanrıçası'na adanmıştır.
- Yerkapı ve Sfensk Kapısı: Dev bir toprak setin altındaki yapay bir tünel, muhteşem sfensk heykelleriyle birlikte.
- Büyükkale (Üst Şehir): Eski kraliyet akropolü, saray ve idari binaların kalıntılarıyla dolu.
YAZILIKAYA – KAYA TAPINAĞI
Hattuşaş'a sadece birkaç kilometre uzaklıkta, Yazılıkaya adında bir açık hava kaya tapınağı bulunuyor. Hititler burada tanrılarını taş duvarlara kazımışlardı. Bu muhteşem kabartmalar, tanrılar, tanrıçalar ve kutsal hayvanlar, 3.000 yıldan fazla bir süre sonra hala ayakta duruyor.
Yazılıkaya özellikle iki galerisiyle tanınıyor: Galeri A, Hitit pantheonunun tanrılarının bir geçit töreninde kazındığı yer; ve Galeri B, kraliyet veya ruhani ritüeller için kullanıldığına inanılan yer.
